MCDONALD'S NAMES PRESIDENT OF U.S. CENTRAL DIVISION

OAKBROOK, Ill – Jan Fields has been named McDonald’s U.S.A. Central Division President effective Jan. 17. In this position, she is responsible for approximately 4,300 restaurant operations across the central United States.  Fields replaces Ralph Alvarez, who was recently named U.S. chief operations officer.

Fields has climbed the organizational ladder, beginning her career as a crew member in Ohio in 1978. She has held positions ranging from management and field operations to director of operations in the southeast in 1993, and management positions as the regional vice president for the Pittsburgh Region and vice president of the company-operated restaurants in the Great Lakes Division.

“Jan’s tireless work on behalf of our brand and our customers is reason enough to recognize her with this appointment. But, she also brings a breadth and depth of operations expertise to that role that is critical to our current efforts to improve our results by improving our customers’ experience,”” corporate chairman and CEO, Jim Cantaloupe said.

From this, she has gained a unique perspective, and this fresh take has served her well, elevating her to the new position. McDonald’s U.S.A. President, Mike Roberts, honored Fields today.

“In a company filled with dedicated and passionate people, Jan’s at the top of the list. She’s a valued and respected leader among her employees and with our owner/operators. She has a proven track record of results and an unquenchable passion for our business and our customers, and our people,” Roberts said.

McDonald’s is the largest food service retailer with more than 30,000 restaurants around the world serving 46 million customers each day.
